The display held in Portcullis House was primarily aimed at encouraging new MPs and Peers to join the Group and participate in its activities at home and abroad. Ms Dinenage is among those who have joined so far.

The exhibition highlighted meetings hosted by the Group in Westminster for parliamentarians from other countries and visits overseas by delegations from the UK. It also featured assemblies and conferences organised by the IPU and seminars held in Parliament such as the recent one on human trafficking.

Mr Evans was chosen as acting Chair of the Group at a meeting of the Group’s Executive Committee in June, and Ann Clwyd MP, a former Chair of the Group became Vice-Chair. An election for all officers – and places on the Committee – will be held in the autumn.
