BGIPU & CPA UK join Embassy Magazine for outreach event for London-based mission staff
In partnership with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (UK Branch) and Embassy Magazine, BGIPU was very pleased to host an outreach event for London-based embassy and high commission staff to provide an overview of how the UK Parliament manages its inter-parliamentary relations, with a key focus on the work of CPA UK and BGIPU.
Welcomed by Embassy Magazine Director, Elizabeth Stewart, diplomatic staff from a wide array of missions heard from CPA UK Chief Executive, Jon Davies and Deputy Head of the International Partnership Team, Fleur ten Hacken on the key objectives and activities undertaken by CPA UK and the role played by BGIPU from Director, Rick Nimmo prior to a networking event for guests and panellists.
There were panellists from CPA UK, BGIPU and Embassy Magazine in the IPU Room, off Westminster Hall at UK Parliament.
Presentations were followed by a networking event for participants.
Participants learned about how the UK Parliament undertakes its interparliamentary work in close cooperation with the diplomatic community.
