Parliamentarians come together to track progress on the SDGs at the HLPF

The HLPF is the United Nation’s main hub to track the implementation of the landmark Sustainable Development Goals – the world’s most ambitious agenda to overcome poverty and inequality while preserving the sustainability of life on our finite planet.

Entitled Partnership and Development Cooperation: Are they delivering for the SDGs, this year’s Parliamentary Forum at the HLPF will centre on SDG 17, the development partnership goal, as a key enabler of the whole SDG enterprise.

The meeting will draw loosely on three SDG 17 targets of particular relevance to parliaments that are key to financing the SDGs, namely, domestic revenue mobilization, development assistance, and public-private partnerships.

The Parliamentary Forum will take place on Wednesday, 13 July, from 10:00 to 13:00 in Conference Room 2, at UN Headquarters in New York. As per usual practice, the event will be open to members of parliament attending the HLPF session as part of their national delegations. Interested parliamentarians are encouraged to contact their missions in New York or the Foreign Ministry in their capitals to enquire about joining their respective national delegations and for all practical arrangements concerning accreditation.
