Vietnam to host the Ninth Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians

The 9th IPU Global Conference of Young MPs will kick off on 15 September in Hanoi, Vietnam.  Hundreds of Young MPs from around the world will meet to consider their roles in accelerating progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The annual IPU Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians is a unique platform for young Members of Parliament to meet, exchange, learn and identify common and innovative strategies to advance youth empowerment. The Ninth Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians will take place eight years after the adoption of the Hanoi Declaration on The Sustainable Development Goals: Turning Words into Action by IPU Member Parliaments in 2015. As we pass the mid-way point to achieving the SDGs by 2030, the Conference will take stock of progress, and highlight the rising importance of technology and innovation to accelerate action towards these global goals.

The UK Parliament is represented at the Conference by Dan Carden MP, the current President of the Board of Young Parliamentarians of the IPU,  Alicia Kearns MP and Zara Sultana MP.
